Compassionate psychotherapy for personal growth, healing and transformation
Suzana Stankovic, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate trauma, life transitions, and personal growth.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Belgrade and a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Houston. I am also EMDRIA-certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for trauma and distressing life experiences.
Throughout my career, I have worked with adults facing the effects of adverse childhood experiences, recent trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions such as divorce, relocation, career changes, and other significant life events.
I am committed to providing a compassionate and supportive environment where clients can heal, gain insight, and move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

MY APPROACH
Many people seek therapy because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about the next chapter of their lives. I believe that beneath symptoms and struggles lies an innate capacity for healing, growth, and transformation.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore difficult emotions, understand longstanding patterns, process painful experiences, and reconnect with their inner strengths and resilience. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they don't have to pretend they're okay or have all the answers.
I specialize in working with the effects of trauma, including adverse childhood experiences and more recent traumatic events. As an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist, I help clients process painful experiences that may continue to affect their emotions, relationships, and sense of self.
In addition to trauma work, I help individuals navigate major life transitions. Whether you are facing divorce, a move, career changes, retirement, caregiving responsibilities, or other significant life shifts, therapy can provide a space to gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
I believe therapy is not only about reducing distress but also about fostering growth, self-understanding, and a deeper connection to the life you want to live. . Together, we work toward greater self-awareness, emotional well-being, and a more authentic connection to the life you want to live.
